Vaccinations
At Loyal Companions, we customize cat and dog vaccinations based on each pet’s unique health status and lifestyle. Every animal is different, and we believe their care should reflect that. While we recommend core vaccines—such as rabies and distemper—to protect against serious illnesses, we also create a personalized vaccination plan that’s both safe and effective for your pet.
Our hospital follows Fear Free principles to make vaccine visits more relaxed and comfortable. If you have concerns about bringing your dog or cat in for boosters, rest assured—we’re here to help ease their anxiety and ensure they get the protection they need from preventable diseases.

Dog Vaccines
- Rabies (required by law)
- Distemper (recommended)
- Leptospirosis
- Lyme disease
- Bordetella (kennel cough)
- Canine influenza

Cat Vaccines
- Rabies (required by law)
- Feline distemper (FVRCP, recommended)
- Feline leukemia (recommended for outdoor cats)
Your pet’s vaccine needs may evolve over time, especially as they age or their lifestyle changes. For example, Bordetella is required for pets who will be boarding, visiting groomers, or going to dog parks. The leptospirosis vaccine is highly recommended for pets in areas where wildlife—such as raccoons or deer—is common. Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease spread through the urine of infected animals, and it can be contracted through contaminated soil or standing water.
