Separate Animals, Separate Experience

Cats and dogs are both wonderful companions, but being near each other in a veterinary setting can be stressful for many pets. At Loyal Companions, we believe your pet’s emotional well-being is just as important as their physical health—that’s why we designed our hospital with completely separate areas for each species, including separate entrances, exam rooms, and treatment spaces. We’ve also eliminated the traditional waiting room entirely to help reduce anxiety and overstimulation. From the moment you arrive, your pet is brought directly into a species-specific exam room, creating a calmer, more comfortable experience for everyone.

Loyal Companions is honored to support the Geneva Police Department by donating all veterinary care and grooming for Officer Tommy.

Tommy's role within the department and the community is to provide additional support to both officers and community members alike.

This initiative is a perfect reflection of our Fear Free mission—while Tommy is providing care and comfort to the community, we’re dedicated to supporting him with the same compassion. Every part of his journey will be guided by Fear Free principles to ensure he feels safe, confident, and loved every step of the way.

Investing in Tomorrow’s Veterinary Professionals Today

At Loyal Companions, giving back to our community includes sharing our knowledge and passion for veterinary medicine. Through the Career & Technical Education Program with District 301’s Central High School, we host student externs each semester who are interested in pursuing careers in the veterinary field. This hands-on experience gives them a real-world look at life inside a veterinary practice and helps inspire the next generation of animal care professionals. Central High School All newly adopted pets from Anderson Humane are eligible for a complimentary exam at Loyal Companions. Plus, for every adopted pet we see, we proudly give back to Anderson Humane as part of our ongoing commitment to support their life-saving work.

Rescued animals often come with unknown histories that may include trauma, neglect, or limited exposure to positive experiences.Our Fear Free Certified hospital is uniquely equipped to support these pets by prioritizing emotional well-being alongside physical health. Through gentle handling, a calm environment, and stress-reducing techniques, Fear Free practices help reduce anxiety and build trust—critical components for animals who may be fearful or unsure in new situations.

We have tried several other vets in the area and none compare to this place where they treat the pets AND the owners with care and respect. A very clean, pleasant and modern office, with welcoming staff, and much less emphasis on talking to you across a desk. We were escorted right into a bright, clean exam room with a soft, low “bed” for our dog, and a chair for his human. No stainless steel cold exam tables here! The doctor and staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Their pricing is also competitive, if not less than what we experienced elsewhere!

Kind of blown away by how awesome this place was. I only have a cat, but the private entrance was nice and the exam room for the cats is specific to cats. The vet talked with us and spent time with our cat. She didnt push anything crazy on us and really seemed to care about her job. The other staff were fantastic as well. Kind and helpful. I was very impressed!

Went here for the first time about a month ago. I brought my new kitten in for her vaccinations. I love that they have a side dedicated just for cats. It’s so nice to see. My kitten loved being able to sit and watch the birds outside. They were very thorough and kind.

Dr. Petsche is very smart and caring. She didn’t give up on our cat when he got sick and continued to try different methods until she saved his life. She was also there for our family when we had to say goodbye to our 16 year old dog. She will email or call us with follow-ups after appointments and her staff is extremely helpful and kind. The facility is very well thought out for pets comfort levels and even has a separate entrance for cats and dogs to enter through. I highly recommend Loyal Companions.
