Shawn Stewart
Receptionist

I was born right here in Soda Springs, first living on my grandfather’s farm in Lago and then moved into town. We moved away when I was 10, living in a few different states.
Ended up in California where I grew up and graduated from high school. My mom was an RN so I thought I would follow in her footsteps. I stumbled upon a job doing ER registration in a busy hospital. That helped me realize that nursing was not for me, too much icky! I did stay in people medicine though for 30+ years, mostly in ER registration even after moving to Colorado. I loved doing what I was doing and worked at some great places.
Throughout the years of coming back to Soda Springs to visit with family, the feeling of being home never left. As I got older it was harder and harder to leave. Last year I finally decided to move back for good, having enough of living in large cities, I was ready for the small town again.
Having always thought about vet medicine, my cousin told me to try here at SSAC, and I’ve now been here for a year. I absolutely love working with animals and their owners, learning so many new things. I tell people it’s the best job ever!
I’ve always had cats my entire life, never being much of a dog person, but have now become a dog lover as well. I have my cat Midnight and also have two dogs, Lucy and Sadie in the same household as well. I’m grateful to be back home in such a beautiful place and to have such a wonderful job!
