Kathy

Veterinary Technician

Kathy has always had a love of animals. She grew up outside Dallas/Fort Worth in Texas out in the country of a small town. Animals would always show up and if they were hurt or sick she would nurse them to health and help find them new homes. She would volunteer at the local shelter as she got older. Her career as a veterinary assistant started 22 years ago. Her interest to become a veterinarian led her to apply for a kennel assistant position, while attending college, at a clinic in Hobbs, New Mexico. Her passion and drive lead her to rise to a lead assistant position with on the job training and education opportunities. She was with that practice for a length of 12 years. She then moved to Soda Springs in November 2014 following her marriage to her husband, Damien. She started with Soda Springs Animal Clinic and has now been with our team for 10 years and counting.

While Kathy enjoys every aspect of veterinary medicine, she thrives with complex/critical/dental and emergency cases. She strives to provide compassionate and high quality care for every patient by working with the DVM and other staff members to figure out the puzzle of diagnosing and helping a pet feel better or resolving their issues. She also cherishes developing lasting relationships with the clients to provide support with their pets’ care.

When she is not in clinic she likes to spend time with her family going on outdoor adventures. They like to go four wheeling or snow machining in the mountains to take in the beautiful scenery of our area. She also spends time keeping updated with the newest veterinary medicine findings, testing, treatments to continue to strength the bond between clients and their pets. She would like to extend a thank you to the clients of Soda Springs Animal Clinic for trusting her, the rest of the staff and doctors with the care of their fur babies. She feels it is a privilege to have a job/career that she loves and feels rewarded on a daily basis.
