Pete Palacpac
Receptionist
Dr. Pete was born and raised in the Philippines. He has always had a strong love for animals, which inspired him to become a veterinarian. He graduated from De La Salle Araneta University School of Veterinary Medicine in the Philippines. After immigrating to the United States he attended Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, New York where he obtained his licensed accreditation to practice in the U.S. Before moving to Southern California he worked as an associate veterinarian in Long Island, New York for a few years. Dr. Pete is a general animal practitioner with a passion for surgery. When he’s not working he enjoys spending time with his wife Lea, and two children Danielle and Leon, as well as his three dogs Pugachow, Bantay, and Maganda.
Growing up I’ve always dreamed of having a career that involved working with animals. I graduated from Platt College as a veterinary technician with my associate degree in science. I’ve been working with Dr. Pete since 2019. I love being able to work with animals every day. I have a 14-year-old Shih Tzu that I love very much.
Since I can remember I have always loved animals. I attended Stanbridge University and completed the registered veterinary technician program and am currently studying for my RVT board exam. I started working with Dr. Pete when I was completing my internship for school. In January of 2021, Dr. Pete hired me as a vet tech. I have a 6-year-old Maltese named Chiquis. Since I have been working here I have acquired many new skills and I plan to keep advancing in the future.
I am a long time friend of Dr. Pete. He and I went to Veterinary School together in the Philippines. I worked as a Veterinarian in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at Golden Egg Poultry Farm for 13 years. I have been working for Dr. Pete since 2015. I love being able to help animals every day. I have one dog of my own, a boxer named Toby who I love very much.
I have been working here since 2020. I also work in the human medical field but I started to work for Dr. Pete as a part-time receptionist when the hospital was getting busier. Since I love animals so much I was really interested in getting some hands-on experience helping the pets. I currently work as both a veterinary assistant and a receptionist and I am always eager to learn. When I am not at work I am taking care of my ‘pack’ of dogs at home and I love all of them very much.
I have loved animals my whole life. When I was younger I had a cat named Coco. He lived to be 20 years old. He was a very loving, affectionate cat and he further increased my love and appreciation for animals. I am currently taking classes to get my veterinary assistant certification and I hope to become a registered vet tech one day. I currently have a guinea pig named Mimi and a cat named Prue.
My love for animals started with caring for sick and injured wild birds. I would feed them, rehabilitate them, and then let them free once they were in good health. A while later I got a German Shepherd mix dog named Dakota. When she got older she went deaf and became very needy. I had to take extra special care of her and she really made my love for animals grow. Now I have a sweet little chihuahua named Leo who I love with all my heart.
