Receptionist
Jessica is our newest receptionist here at MTCAC. She is a native Houstonian who joined MTCAC in August of 2020. Her prior career includes 35 years of experience as an office manager in the dental industry. She and her husband, Beau, have three dogs, Maisy, Max and her recently adopted dog, Minnie.
They also have two cats, Buddy and Bella. Never a dull moment in her household with all their fur babies!
Receptionist
Starlyn began to work with the MTC Gang in June of 2000. She works as a part-time receptionist, and has been a great source of help to the front desk. Starlyn is a great animal lover, having 2 cats in her pet family.
Starlyn was born in Indiana, and moved to Houston in 1984. Her interests include dancing, reading, sewing, and, of course, anything to do with animals.
Everyone in the MTC Gang could tell a few funny stories about things that have happened while working here! Starlyn’s favorite was the time one of our clients came in from the parking lot to report that our clinic cat at the time, “Benny” was sitting in the back seat of her car visiting with her brother and her dog! When we went out to see, he was sitting on the seat next to the dog like it was a cool thing to do.
The Gang and the clients have enjoyed Starlyn’s kind nature, and welcomes her help at MTCAC.
Receptionist
LEE joined the MTCAC family in spring of 2018. She is originally from Houston, growing up in Tanglewood. Lee attended Robert E. Lee High School, and graduated with a degree in Landscape Architecture from Texas Tech University. She lived in Canada for 35 years, working in a veterinary clinic in Ottawa for 20 years.
While in Ottawa, Lee was a “horse person”, riding in the jumper show circuit. Now she’s loving being back in Texas with her golden retriever “Newman” and golden mix running buddy “Frank”.
Receptionist
Shannon has been with us since 2014. She hails from Amarillo, but has lived all over Texas and in Colorado. In her spare time she is an avid aquarium enthusiast. Along with all her fishies, her crew at home includes the 2 dogs “Marvin” and “Booba” that you will see with her at the front desk, and two cats “Snowman” and “Rat”.
Receptionist
When we talk about the founding of MTC, the staff member who has been here since “the beginning”, is Jan.
Before the merger of Town & Country and Memorial Animal Clinics, Jan worked with Dr. Benson and Dr. Saxe at their clinic on West Bough beginning in 1984. And she was there when the clinics came together to form Memorial Town & Country Animal Clinic in 1986, starting out as an assistant, then a technician, and finally working at the front desk.
Jan has 2 kitties; “Beetlejuice” and “Toodels”, and “Poppy” the bull terrier, who will typically take over a front desk chair when Jan steps away.
Veterinary Technician
Sarah joined the MTCAC family in July of 2017 as a kennel assistant. In the summer of 2022, she began working as a technician and has proven she is up for the challenge. Sarah was born and raised in Houston and married her husband, Charlie, in 2023. They have 2 fur babies; “Jade”, a 4 year old dog and “Nala” the cat. Her love of animals started at a very young age and has been with her ever since making her a perfect fit here..

She graduated from the University of Houston in 2023 with a BS in Kinesiology and is working towards her goal of attending vet school. Sydney loves to spend her free time doing anything outside with her 2 year old standard poodle “Dude”, cuddling on the couch with her 18 year old cat “Waylon”, spending time with friends and family, reading a good book, needlepointing or cooking.

In her free time, Lauryn enjoys swimming, discovering new music, and spending time with her two 10 year old pit bulls; “Xenthe” and “Thor”.
Veterinary Technician
While many wonderful and talented care-givers have been at MTCAC, few have been as dedicated or had a stronger work ethic than Kimberly, who joined us in 1996. Like many of us in the veterinary field, Kimberly began with little knowledge, but much love and dedication to give to our clients and patients.
Almost immediately, it was apparent that Kimberly was a fast and willing student in the learning environment at MTCAC. Within a few short years, Kimberly advanced from care-giver to vet assistant to the position we are fortunate to have her at, as Head Veterinary Technician.
Not only is it necessary to acquire knowledge and skills, the position of “Head Tech” requires enormous responsibility. The medical needs of our patients must come first on a daily basis. Kimberly has many times set aside her personal plans to come early or stay late to assist the doctors in caring for a sick animal.
While always ready to lend a hand at the clinic, Kimberly also enjoys running, fishing and spending time with her family. She has a husband, 2 sons, 2 Golden Retriever rescues “Jimmy” and “Bunny”, and 3 kitties “Trout”, “Chibbles” and “Tammy” .
The rest of the gang, doctors, and clients at MTC have come to know that we all have a truly caring friend in Kimberly. Her priority is right along with our goal…giving the best we can to our clients and their family of pets at MTC.
Veterinarian
Dr. Inman has been a Veterinarian at MTCAC since 2013. She started as a relief doctor working one day a week but joined our team full time within a year.
She was born and raised in the Texas hill country, just outside New Braunfels, and moved to Houston after graduating vet school from Texas A&M University in 2007. She is experienced in general practice and emergency medicine but her passion is in providing geriatric care, pain management, ultrasound and dentistry. You may see her around St. Cecilia Catholic School where her husband works and her 2 children, Kylee and Maddie, attend school. Her pet family includes 2 golden retrievers “Holly” and “Woody”, and a little chihuahua mix named “Rosie”.
In her spare time, Dr. Inman enjoys playing or watching sports (especially her kid’s sports), working-out, and doing just about anything outdoors with her family, especially traveling to Disney World!
Veterinarian
Dr. Edwards is at the clinic every Tuesday, Wednesday, and some Saturdays. She has worked as a relief veterinarian for the doctors at MTCAC since 1982.
Born and raised in Houston, she is from a family of 10 children and grew up on a farm in the Hobby Airport area. They had horses, chickens, dogs, cats, and the occasional calf and pig. Graduating from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979, she began her career in equine medicine in California and Seguine, Texas. In 1982, she joined a Houston area small animal emergency clinic and also started doing relief veterinary work, allowing other vets to be away from their practices.
Dr. Edwards has six 4-legged children – dogs “Camo”, “Easy”, “Skeeter”, “Skip”, “Deanie”, and a cat named “Heaven”. The doctors, staff, and clients are fortunate to have Dr. Edwards as part of our clinic family.
Veterinarian
Dr. Peterson is originally from Washington state but after 52 years in Texas, he identifies as a Texan. He has been in the greater Houston area for the past 47 years and joined the MTCAC family in 2005.
He graduated Texas A&M in 1998 and the Veterinary School at A&M in 2002. Starting out, he spent several years working almost exclusively on horses (which is a good thing as his wife of 28 years insists they have 1 or 2 at all times). Besides large animals, his career has allowed him to broaden his veterinary knowledge to include reptiles, amphibians, small animals, and the occasional 2-toed sloth. Although highly skilled in the use of ultrasound to diagnose problems, he continues to seek more in-depth training in the field. If you have horses, feel free to ask him questions as he says he sometimes misses treating them and enjoys a good horse story now and then.
Veterinarian
Dr. Brasher has been at Memorial Town & Country Animal Clinic since its inception. His previous practice, Memorial Animal Clinic, stood at the existing site of today’s “MTCAC”.
Dr. Brasher was born and raised in the small town of Weimar, Texas. Even as a small boy, he was intrigued by animals. On more than one occasion, his mother would get a call from his teacher asking “can you try to get your son to leave the critters at home!” This usually meant he had another snake or frog rolled up in the cuffs of his pants!
Dr. Brasher is a graduate of Texas A&M University, class of 1975 and graduated with honors from the Veterinary School at A&M in 1976. While there, he was a four-year member of the Corps of Cadets.
Dr. Brasher has many animal-related hobbies such as working his cattle ranch in Colorado County and competing in field trials (a retrieving competition) with his Labradors. He has a soft spot for the breed, but also has a menagerie of other pets that includes several cats, chickens, golden retrievers “Sunny “and “Dewey”, and labs “River” and “Mercy”.
When not at the clinic, he is either working at his ranch or fishing the Texas coast.
