Laser Therapy

Enhancing healing and relieving pain with advanced technology.

Laser therapy uses high-intensity light accelerates the body’s natural healing processes to treat pain, clear inflammation (acute and chronic), and accelerate wound healing. The laser beam is moved over the skin so that the light energy penetrates the tissue where it interacts with various molecules that cause different effects within the body. It produces photochemical, photothermal, and photomechanical effects.

Many pet insurance plans cover laser therapy when recommended for pain relief or post-surgical recovery. If you’re not sure what your plan covers, refer to your policy — and if you don’t currently have pet insurance, click here to learn more.
What is Laser Therapy?

How Can Laser Therapy Help?

Laser therapy is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment that can help reduce pain, inflammation, and speed up healing in a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Tendon/ligament sprains and strains (tendonitis)
  • Muscle injuries
  • Lameness
  • Arthritis
  • Hip dysplasia

  • Post-surgical swelling
  • Infected wounds (like ear infections)
  • Non-healing or slow-healing wounds (e.g., lick granulomas)
  • Lacerations
  • Sinusitis

We carefully determine whether laser therapy is appropriate for your pet’s condition and customize the frequency and intensity of sessions to their specific needs. In some cases, it’s used as a standalone therapy; in others, it’s part of a broader integrative treatment plan alongside acupuncture, shockwave, or PRP.

Cutting Edge Therapy Lasers

Cashmere Veterinary Clinic uses an EVO MLS Class IV COLD therapy laser from Cutting Edge. This type of laser has greater penetration depth into tissues vs other therapy lasers. This is beneficial in treating large and dark-haired/skinned animals. Because the wavelengths go lower than other lasers, we can also treat exotic animals and birds. This type of laser is the only laser with synchronized wavelengths proving a faster and more long-lasting treatment. Cutting Edge Therapy lasers are FDA approved.
