Medically Supervised Boarding & Grooming for Pets

Barks + Bliss offers a pet boarding and grooming experience unlike any other in Central Texas.  Our boarding is medically supervised with three levels of care depending on the needs of the pet, medical condition, and veterinary nurse time needed. Our facility was designed for the comfort and wellbeing of cats and dogs including luxury and deluxe accommodations that have fear-free color palettes, sound proofing, and separation of dogs and cats. Rest assured, our experienced veterinary team treats your furry family member as if they are their own.

Dog Medically Supervised Stays

From healthy dogs, to those who require treatment, your pup will be in the best hands while you are away.  Our stays include spacious suites (luxury, deluxe and small dog deluxe options) elevated beds with multiple outings during the day in our dog yard.  All dogs are offered Purina EN, dry and canned food fed in appropriate amounts unless owners bring their food. In most cases, dogs in one family can be housed together.  A complimentary bath is offered after the 3rd night on check-out day.  You will receive updates and pictures from our caring staff.  Our goal is for your furry friend to have their own fun vacation while you are away.

Cat Medically Supervised Stays

Barks + Bliss also offers comfort and relaxation for your feline family member, with a dedicated room that contains 8, three-story condos, large windows, with a cat tree.  Each condo can accommodate one cat and has a separate litterbox with 24/7 air filtration.  Play time is offered in the cat room daily and food is provided.

Levels of Care

Level I: for healthy or stable patients, those that require administration of oral medications or prescription diets, and stable post-operative patients who can walk on their own.

Level II: for pets that require medical observation and treatment during their stay such as wound care or routine injectable medications. This includes aid in walking, expression of bladder, medicated baths as needed. Partially ambulatory geriatric patients under 45 pounds and stable diabetic patients that require daily insulin injections are in this level.

Level III: for pets that require multiple treatments requiring more than one staff member throughout the course of their stay including blood glucose curves, passive range of motion and other physical therapies, extensive wound management, numerous intense medical therapies. Large breed (>45 lbs) geriatric patients that require more than a single staff member to walk outside and diabetic patients that are not well-controlled are in this level.

Dog Grooming and Bathing

Good hygiene goes a long way toward keeping your dog healthy and comfortable. We offer baths and if your dog stays with us three nights or more, they receive a complimentary standard bath!

  • Standard bath with ear cleaning, pedicure
  • Medicated baths with ear cleaning, pedicure
  • Defurmination
  • Pedicure
  • Anal gland expression
  • Sanitary trim

To keep all of our guests healthy and happy during their time at our facility, we require the following vaccines for dogs and cats:

Dogs

  • DHPP (every 36 months)
  • Rabies (every 36 months)
  • Canine Influenza Bivalent (every 12 months)
  • Bordetella (every 12 months)

Cats

  • FVRCP (every 36 months)
  • Rabies (every 36 months)
  • FeLV/FIV Viral Testing – Indoor cat needs negative test on file; indoor/outdoor cat needs annual test on file

Pet Wellness During Their Stay

While they’re staying with us, they will have access to our full suite of veterinary services. If your pet needs any wellness services, such as an exam, vaccinations, dental care, or elective surgery, just let us know!
